The classes of NIT Arunachal Pradesh were started from 2010 in a temporary campus in Yupia, Arunachal Pradesh.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Admission to undergraduate programmes in all NITs is through the All India Engineering Entrance Examination now known as JEE Main.
The admissions to postgraduate programmes (M.Tech.) are made primarily through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
Admission to the MS programme is done through the CCMN conducted by the NITs.
